Marilyn Kirkman is an experienced artist with work in collections at the Broadmoor Hotel, the National Academy of Sciences and Kiva Magazine. After visual problems caused by macular degeneration, Marilyn sought a new way to express herself. She is the inventor and developer of sculptured silk painting. Legally blind, she feels the texture of the silk and knows the colors. Pure silk is applied to board and manipulated to form shape, design and texture. Color adds excitement and brings out the details.
