Founded in Old Colorado City in late 1977 with fifteen members, Arati Artists Gallery, Inc. was incorporated in 1985. Several of the founding artists continue among the current group of nineteen, all of whom serve not only as working artists and stockholders, but also as "clerks" who staff, clean, redecorate, repair, keep the records, do public relations, and promote the gallery.
