Lisa Christopherson

Artwork:

Lisa Christopherson’s artistic style includes both realistic representations of the subject matter and vibrantly colored, expressive pieces.  She works in oil, acrylic, watercolor, graphite, colored pencil, charcoal, pastel, and cut paper.  The subject matter of her work is mostly animals and flowers. Her recent works are produced using combinations of media.  She explores the use of black and other dark values in her composition to help illuminate the materials that add “sparkle” to her pieces. Lisa has created a series of hand-painted golf balls.  They are small, unique works-of-art that can be displayed or used in many ways.

Inspirations:

Lisa is inspired by the inner values of positivity, balance, patience, and Love; and seeks to share these qualities to others through her artwork and through her life.  She has a strong spiritual life, and uses art to express her gratitude and joy for the many gifts she has been given. She is also inspired by her affection for animals.  Her Pet Portraits display incredible skill and even greater tender loving care. Nature is another of her inspirations.  It is full of colors, patterns, and spiritual beauty, especially when experiencing a sunset, sunrise, or storm. Many Artists, past and present, have influenced Lisa’s work, but it is the kinship
and association with other artists that inspire her life.

Education:

Lisa received a BFA with a concentration in graphic design from
Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO in 1997.
A semester of this time was spent studying art abroad in Italy.
