This largely black and white stately bird with iridescent multi-colored wing and tail feathers sparks interest in all who see this large bird with the magnificent long streaming tail feathers. There are only 2 other North American birds that have tails longer than their bodies and I love to paint iridescent feathers on dark birds which makes them come alive.(Scissor-tailed and Fork-tailed Flycatchers) |
